Kia 6 year service price?

Hello

I have a Kia Ceed 2007 (57) Diesel,I have been quoted a price at the moment i cant remember the correct price,But im sure it was close to 380+vat,I was then told any parts that would be used i will get 15% off,Does this sound about right for a kia 6 year service? What i dont get though is why i would pay a large amount for the service but then get told what ever parts is used i will get 15% off,I would of thought the big amount i was quoted £380 would be for the parts aswell?

What is it they will be doing for £380.

I shall be phoning them up to find out what they quote was,But didn't want to sound dim when i ask them any questions.

Thanks:)

Sorry you lost me there,You saying £380 is labour with no parts,If so i shant be going to a main dealer for its service.

My guess is the service will be £380 all in, but you would be offered 15% off any additional parts, such as if the car needed brake pads?

Don't feel that you would sound dim for asking, I'm sure the garage will understand that you want clarification.
And that my son, is how to waft a towel!
  • Sounds like a cambelt change included in that quote if it has one, or could be transmission fluid change on an auto box...manual transmission change would require about 2 to 3 litres of oil and maybe half an hours labour so no big deal, dashed expensive that quote.

Phone other Kia dealers for quotes, especially outlying rural dealers, maybe you can find a better deal and incorporate it into a visit or trip somewhere in the vicinity.

Hi Thanks,I now see why he said 15% of parts,That makes it more clear.

No cambelt change its a chain so ill be allright for that,Seems to be a lot of checks according to the handbook. Im going to phone the dealer where i bought the car,Its a bit of a distance but it would be handy to see what they would be charging.

Hmm with now cambelt change I can't see how they can justify that. Yes, phone around, I did with Ford for the wife's Cmax's first service, first dealer £189, second dealer £99 both Ford Franchises.

Lots of looking for things that they could charge extra for but only actually replacing:

Replace engine oil & oil filter.
    Replace air filter.
    Replace Fuel Filter.
    Replace Brake Fluid.

    £380 + VAT

Yes not good when it comes to things are being replaced that wouldn't cost much. Got the quote a bit wrong but still its not cheap,The quote comes to £378 thats with VAT,But then i do have 15% of any parts used. £378 does include the body inspection which a Kia dealer can only do.
  • I wonder if the higher service cost to you is used to offset the cost to Kia of the 7 year warranty. Does the car need to be serviced by Kia to validate the 7 year warranty?

What is the mileage of the car?
