Stolen Camera/Credit Card purchase!

I purchased a new Camera last week before we flew off to the canary islands with the Grand children. During a show one took ill and I lifted her up to the room. Realising I had left my camera I ran back down within a few minutes but it had been stolen.
My question is this: If the Holiday Insurance don't pay out have I any protection/cover for my camera via the credit card company seeing it was only a few days old?
Any advise would be very much appreciated.
thanks in advance.

It depends on the credit card, does the one you have offer insurance for loss within a certain period of payment? Did you report it and get a crime number (or the Spanish equivalent ) for the holiday insurance claim? Some travel policies will disqualify any claim where negligence has been involved in the loss.0

Some credit cards do offer protection against theft. As an example, Capital One offers customers such protection on items for up to 100 days after they're purchased.
However, there are exclusions. In Capital One's case, you have to take "reasonable care" of the item and report the theft to the Police within 24 hours.
So, it really depends on what credit card you have and what its T&Cs say.
Given the circumstance of the theft—the item was left unattended in an insecure place—I think you'll struggle to get an insurance payout.0 -
From what you describe, no.
Even if your card offered this feature as protection (not all do), leaving the item behind would be viewed as being careless and exempt from any valid claim. It would have to be stolen from you, not purloined after you departed elsewhere.0
