Does a Britax First Class carseat fit in a Zafira?

Seems to be the great unanswerable question at the moment (it's not on the fitfinder on the Britax website at all). Having had a three page long epic MOT fail on our car, and a good four digits before the decimal point on the repair costs - it's time to say goodbye... and can I heck get an answer on whether our existing car seat (which I love) will fit in a Zafira. Have asked around and got the yes that our youngest's carseat will fit - but finding out about the First Class one seems nigh on impossible!

Hi, I have an 06 Zafira & I use a Britax First Class Si car seat...I have also fited in in the boot seats...there is loads of room & no buckle crunch. I had this seat in my PUG 206 which Mothercare tried & said it had buckle crunch & wouldn't sell it to me so I went to a different Mothercare store & bought it anyway as the Britax website said it was suitable & it is designed with two ways of routing to avoid BC & when I fitted it it didn't have BC - the member of staff at Mothercare just wasn't doing it right & they are surposed to be trained!!! She was trying to tell me there weren't any suitable for my car!!! So if you go MC to try any don't just let the staff do it - have a go yourself...I didn't realise that Zafiras had any probs with carseats fitting, I'm looking to buy a second & it never accured to me that I'd have a problem this time as they aren't cramped with stupid shaped seats like my old PUG 206! Good job I am looking at getting another Britax! Doh!

I don't know if there's anything out of the ordinary about the seats in a Zafira but if it helps we have the Britax First Class and it's fitted perfectly into a Range Rover, a Prius, a Toyota hatchback, and at least one other hire car (Subaru I think). It's very easy to fit and to remove. It was even easy enough to fit in the Range Rover despite its relatively short seatbelts. The only thing I would maybe say wasn't ideal is the weight but if it's going to stay in the car then that's not too much of an issue (ours gets put in and out of various family members' cars quite a bit, hence the variety!).
If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...

If your local council has a road safety department they might be able to check it for you? From memory it should fit - but there can be discrepancies with individual cars so best to check it first. Vauxhalls used to have very long buckle ends on the seat belts in the rear of their cars which made a lot of car seats buckle crunch.

Yeah it's the buckle crunch thing I'd heard about and Google seems to say about 50/50 yes/nos... was chatting to my health visitor and she said she'd found the problems with them to be overexaggerated as she'd had a string of zafiras. Guess we'll find out on Tuesday when we pick it up!

Hoping it does since I really like the carseat and want to get a second one the same for our youngest. Between carseats, dogs, children and a stupidly tall husband - getting cars is a nightmare!

The OH has had a couple of Vauxhalls as company cars and he's wanted to check them out before the car's delivered. Our local Vauxhall showroom is really helpful about letting you sit in the cars, take a look round them etc.

Why not visit a showroom, get your car seat and see if it will fit in a Zafira?

Thanks all - ideally we'd have spent days researching and checking things out - but since the MOT failure's levels of spectacularness hit us out of the blue and hubby's just had a work promotion meaning he's now conveniently moved to a site out in the backside end of nowhere with naff all in the way of the ability to get there via public transport - we had to make a decision rather quickly indeed! Then later I googled something semi-related and got tonnes of "ooh nightmare to get car seats for it" and panicked!
