Primus Line Rental

On my bill from Primus, it says they are now offering line rental...ONLY FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS.
It works out at £1 per month less than BT, but for all purposes it still a BT line but billed by Primus.
It seems like a very good deal, and they give the first month free. The only drawback I can see is that it is an 18 month contract...I'd love to hear other people for's and against's.

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Indeed we do.
BTW, "£1 per month less than BT" appears to be a small saving - but do they mean it?
Updated 1/6/07 - BT line rental is now £10.50/month (payment by DD after 50p/month paper-free billing discount).
Last I heard, Primus line rental was £10.99/month.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I had primus call me up and try to get me to switch and admitted it was going to cost me 24p a month more. "It would be easier to get 1 bill", yeah right who for??
so lets clarify: you want me to pay more for line rental with you for you to then contact BT if I have a line problem, is that right? er yes.
