Amazingly, until they lower their rate, NS & I Income Bonds are the best paying instant access savings 'account', paying 1.75% gross/1.76 % AER!

yeah - they look good - a bit of a pain though, interest is paid 'out' every month so no compounding, but also they are paid gross so you need to do a tax return even if you are a regular tax rate payer.0
