Adt Alarm's

Hi Moneysavers,
This is my first post and i was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I moved into my house last year and the alarm was working fine until yesterday - the alarm went off and now its flashing 6 numbers one by one and CE twice - i read the hand book and it says to write down the code and contact the ADT for a reset code. I rang them this morning and it seems that the alarm used to be connected to the ADT call centre but i didn't know about this. They said i could join their service for £30 month but i don't even have a phone line set up in the house, they said that they would need to send an engineer out then to enter a reset code that would cost around £125. Does anyone happen to know a reset code that i could try or give me any advice on how to deal with this? Hope this is posted in the right place and thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Ditch them and get another company to fit an alarm will be cheaper in the long rung ADT are overpriced and most of their systems cctv/alarms are done on rental terms DO NOT PAY £125 for someone to come out to tap a 4 digit no in these panels can be set to give Faults Ahhmm reminders at certain time requiring a skilled engineer:rolleyes: to tap in a number. All of the cables will be in place so just get another company to change the control panel.ADT have got quite a bad reputation for overpricing if you search various forums
Take a look at this forum http://www.bloged.co.uk/archives/001243.php0 -
Sounds like a service interval con sorry.......reminder.
As above, ditch it and get a decent local company to install a new one using the wiring from the existing alarm. Should be fairly low cost0 -
