PAYG Dongle

Any recommendations welcome for a PAYG dongle. I don't know much about them, I assume it's like using a PAYG phone?
I'll be in a house in Cornwall for a few weeks in the summer and the house doesn't have an internet connection.
I'll only be using the internet for about 1-2 hours per day so I figured that PAYG would be best. Is that right?

Thanks for that, very helpful :)

I'm never sure about data allowance. If I'm just answering emails, browsing sites and not downloading anything or watching videos I shouldn't use that much, right?

You need to see WHICH network provides coverage of any use where you LAN to use it. A mobile is a good check. 3UK has the cheapest Mobile BB (per Gb), so look at them first to save the most money.

Next dongles are resold very cheaply on auction sites - so don't consider buying new unless you have to.

Will try and find out about network coverage, thanks.

*O2, t-mobile and orange will be okay. Vodafone is rubbish*

This is probably a very silly question but, if I buy a second hand dongle how do I connect it up?

You just put the simcard you've bought for the PAYG service into the dongle, plug it into a USB port on your PC and everything starts up automatically. The PC reads the driver software off the dongle.

New will likely be cheaper. Even more so with cashback options. Forget about the second hand idea.

Its more expensive, but I've had great results from a ZTE MF60. It even has an aerial input so you could put a big aerial on it if needed. Amazon sell them.

Got one of those for £12 when O2 had a sale.

We've got a pay per day t mobile dongle. It's very easy to use - when you start trying to connect to the internet it takes you to a payment screen and you chose whether you want a day etc. If you go over your fair use allowance it doesn't cut you off completely, you can still access the internet, but you can't do anything data-heavy like watching videos until you have reached the end of the time you've paid for and you start again with a new data allowance.

I purchased mine for £12. The cheapest new was £49. To get any hope of Cashback options, you are agreeing to a minimum term commitment, which is the LAST thing the OP needs.
