Red Ant advice
Hey everyone, this is my first post but I need some advice!
This is our first year with a proper garden since we moved house last November. Now the sun has been shining I have been trying to start on the garden (its quite a mess), theres lots of bald patches on the lawn which turn out to be tops of red ant nests. I have 2 young kiddies who love to be outside so I want to get rid of them.
Any advice? They do seem to cover quite a large part of the garden!

Ants absolutely hate coffee, so if you have a friendly coffee place nearby that would be happy to give you their used grinds, you could sprinkle that generously all over the place.
I think there's also some nematodes that you can buy that are supposed to make them leg it.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
A kettle full of boiling water for each one should do the trick in minutes..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks for your replies, Funnily enough I actually work in a coffee shop so when next in i'll get some! I have been trying with the boiling water but there just seem to be so many, think its going to be a long process but will be worth it to have a lovely garden!!0
