Lloyds TSB CC

Even though when I spend below 10% of my CC limit on an online purchase I have to fill in a Lloyds Mastercard set of security stuff and then a few minutes later I get a phone call from Lloyds where on an automated menu I have to give a further set of security details in order that the payment will go through.
I had two phone calls about the same purchase from Lloyds this morning and then I had to phone the supplier to sort out the purchase again.
Very very annoying and I don't buy the 'for your own security' line that Lloyds pedal.
Is this sort of thing the case with ALL CCs these days.

It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Well, why else would they be doing it? For the good of their health, at their own time and expense?
It is for your security, even if it seems annoying.
If you're shopping at a less well-known online retailer, and/or they have a history of customers raising payment disputes, and/or such purchases are 'unusual' for you (bear in mind this will take time to establish), then the payment is likely to be manually reviewed.
I've had it a few times when I've made 'unusual' transactions, including when attempted payments have been fraudulent. I've always appreciated the card issuer's eye for detail.0 -
I don't think the poster was after a lecture, kloana. When I purchase online I get a single text to my mobile with a security pin that I have to input on the site. Not multiple forms and phonecalls. I think that's what slinga was asking. I don't think that Lloyds is typical of the security scenario. Two phone calls about the purchase and a need to phone the supplier. No that is not typical it is over the top. Security gone mad.0

None of this is the case.

also remember its for theres toDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Exactly, when it comes to a credit card, they are covering themselves, has nothing to do with security for the customer :P0 -

This is the point, and although it can be an annoyance, it does mean that they are secured.
I went to pay for a taxi this afternoon, I'd told them where I am, and even used my card with a UK taxi firm earlier for £120, so not exactly a small amount, then twice at Heathrow airport, and they've phoned me when paying for a taxi from Stockholm to Malmo, just to make sure it was me (I agreed a fare, something like £400 with the driver before we set off).
It covers their back, and it, to an extent, ensures I'm covering mine. I've now been reunited with my car (one of our staff brought it out on Thursday), and probably won't need diesel now for at least 2 weeks (I'm going from here to Romania).
Ok, I'm a little higher risk than many, but the principle is the same.
