Parking near tube station A40

Hi
We are planning a day trip to London on a Saturday, the train prices are prohibitive so it will have to be the car. We will drive along the M40/A40, is there a tube station near there where we can find free/cheap parking for the day?

This is where we park if when we travel down to Wembley. Easy in and easy out.

+1 for Hillingdon. Big, close to A40, £2 on Saturday. Double check there is no problem with the Metropolitan Line before you travel(there is today, for example). All the other Met stations are the same price on a Saturday.

Hillingdon is fine if it is not full, as it was the last time I tried to use it then, having been forced into it, I found a potentially free option a little further down in South Ruislip, parking in streets over the road from tube on a Saturday is allowed and there is a big public car park just under the bridge next to Sainsburys. So if you can get a roadside space it is free, but a charge obviously for the car park if you need to use this.

But still, the best option if there is space is Hillingdon, oh and good luck finding the way in, can be a bit confusing the first time.

it maybe a bit late as you may have already gone but I go to westfields in shepherds bush, its £5 weekdays and £8 on weekends and its zone one on the tube so £2.20 one way into soho, its also out of the congestion zone

its also just off the m40 so easy to get to
