I got a temp job starting soon, and JCP say I qualify for 4 weeks housing benefit 'roll on', hwlps to adjust to normal pay..

does that mean I still have to pay the bedroomtax?

The 'roll on' or Extended Payment Benefit is a further four weeks Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support paid at the same rate as when you were unemployed. To qualify you need to be in receipt of a qualifying social security benefit for a continuous 26 weeks, commence work when your social security benefits stop and the job is expected to last 5 weeks or more.

If your Housing Benefit is currently being restricted due to surplus bedrooms then your run on will only pay your HB at the rate you were getting while unemployed.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

It would depend on your local authority and their working practices. Some just assume your job is permanent and if you meet the 26 weeks continuous entitlement rule - some Benefit Officers might forget to award or ask if you want a run on - if you don't get it request it. Others will send you a questionnaire to complete and return.

If you qualify it should be applied automatically due to DWP informing HB office that you have stopped claiming due to work but as suggested call your Local Authority, there may have been a break in your claim you weren't aware of.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.
