I haven't used an e-ink reader since 2010 - I find apps on my phone and tablet to be far superior - iBooks, Aldiko, Bluefire, Kindle etc.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

This ^If you want an ebook reader then you cannot do better than buy a dedicated ebook reader.
Just walk in to a shop that sells both (eg John Lewis) and compare an e-reader to a tablet - there is no comparison, for reading plain text an e-reader is far better.
For anything else though a tablet is far far better, so it really depends what you want to use it for.0 -
Buy the Nook simple touch for £29, can't go wrong for that price, simple light, handy to have.
If you then find you still want a tablet buy one, the Nook won't be wasted, plenty of times you'll be able to use it.0
