What do you do about multiple purchases?

Hi
I state in all my listings that I offer a £1.50 discount for each additional item bought.
This sometimes works in my favour and sometimes in the buyers, but other than weighing each parcel at the end and re-doing the invoice (as a mother of pre-school twins I don't have time for this), it seems the fairest option.
A woman from Italy has just bought loads of my stuff. She is now not only questioning the postage (despite it all being stated clearly with my discount policy in my listings), but telling me what the postage should be! The amount she is stating is ridiculous and doesn't cover the actual postage without anything else.
What do you do about multiple purchases and what should I do about this woman?
I am getting really fed up with this on ebay at the moment. If you are going to query postage, you do it before you bid. When I buy something, if the postage looks too high I don't bid, or I just knock it off the amount I would bid for the item. It is the total cost that matters, surely?!!

If you were so inclined you could meet her somewhere in the middle, otherwise just reply that your postage was clearly stated and send another invoice.0

I would send this woman a message saying sorry but the postage and packaging cost is clearly stated in the auction listing. This is the amount that you are required to pay. If she continues to argue with you just wait 7 days and then on the 8th day file an unpaid item dispute.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
I had someone do this before they bid! Emailed me with their postage quote!!! I think its just rude!
And for her to do it the other way is horrible! I would stick to your guns and charge what YOU want!!

Personally the fact that she is in Italy and is trying to dictate terms would make me very uneasy. Too easy for it to get lost in transit !!?? A disgruntled buyer who wants to get even if things don't go their way?
Be very careful here I could see this turning nasty and possibly expensive. I think would be considering pulling out of this or ensuring that I was as covered as well as I could be with my method of posting. If it goes over 2Kg it will start to get very expensive anyway so please be very careful here.0 -
Please be aware that combined postage is not working correctly on Ebay. This is a known error and their technical team are "working on it"

The workaround is to revise the invoice manually before the buyer pays for it.
There is also an (unrelative?) problem with combined postage in Turbolister where the boxes for multiple item postage are greyed out so when you upload to Ebay, it defaults to the normal postage price and not the discounted price. My workaround is to upload singles and then revise in Ebay. Again their technical team are "working on it" :rolleyes:0 -

Is that the one that happened after the program update? I managed to fix it on mine. Try this:
Open any listing as if for editing.
Click the word Customise next to the Postage Options bar.
In the pop-up box there's a heading for Multi-quantity discounts. "Display option to select combined postage discounts" will probably be selected. Change this to "Display Each Add'l Item field".
Click OK.
Et voila, hopefully your additional item boxes will be back.

I'll try that too tonight ..... cheers0 -
I refuse to ship to Italy now, as too many parcels get 'lost' in their postal system. Most fraudulent one in Europe, apparently... Make sure you send it trackable.0

Quoted for truth.
And tell the woman that the combined postage discount is voluntary and optional. If she's unhappy with it, she can always pay the full price instead. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0
