IMO its a misleading omission - had that critical piece of info been made clear then the person may not have signed up to the card.
As you say, now that interest has to be paid (unless they clear the BT) they cannot get free points so have stopped using the card
i did say they got 0% purchases and 0% BT so have hardly been screwed over or suffered a loss - but we were discussing the clarity of the advertising.0 -
The balance transfer itself does not attract interest even if you make any purchases. The problem is that the purchases do attract interest due to the fact that you are not paying off the full statement balance.0
