TOm tom in Northern R.O.I

Hi

Anyone used Tom tom satnav in the surroundings of Letterkenny (daytrips by car based from here). I am thinking about buying a V2 GB + IE and interested to know what the accuracy and level of road mapping is like. I live in GB and am visiting IE soon

I heard about someone who travelled from the south up to the north of IE, not sure which brand of Satnav they were using, but it reported that they were crossing the Atlantic ocean at one stage !

might've been right, have a look at this, just outside Oban, you can drive over the Atlantic.

Tom Tom mapping is usually very good, I have only found it to be wrong when new roads or layouts have been changed and you usually end up in a field. NI and ROI are pretty new when it comes to tom tom maybe your friend didnt have the ROI map on his and it only covered NI and a result would be driving in the water.

It could also have been down to somthing playing with the gps signal.

Ive heard that the Tom tom V2 Europe is supposed to have better level of road mapping in Northern ROI, than the regional V2 for GB + ROI.

Anyone able to comment thrugh having owned either
