Prudential car insurance and quidco cashback

Options
My car insurance is up for renewal and have decided to go down the quidco cashback route.

I have worked out that Prudential will be the best but have a few questions I need to ask.

We have 2 cars and both up at the same time so will be going through Prudential for both - can I get cashback for both?
Should I wait a few days between each policy?

Will I see that it has tracked before the start date of the insurance? It is due on Jun 21st but if I did it now would it track now or after 21st June?

Probably best to get one tracked before you do the second one just to be on the safe side. From memory the Pru track fairly quickly, pay out in about 3 months. Not guaranteed, of course, but worth trying.

I made a purchase tonight with is now reporting as "validated" just 2 hours later.

£130 which is >50% of my premium *and* with free breakdown cover.

Can't get much better than this! Wow! Wow2 Wow3
(actually found it from a google search before reading here)

I haven't had any actual experience but I think I have read somewhere that they can refuse cashback if the policy isn't in the same name as the policy holder.

So for example if one policy is in the name of Mr asandwhen and the other in the name of Mrs asandwhen then you would need 2 quico accounts.
This means paying 2 lots of £5 (which is a bargain IMO) but personally I'd do it this way otherwise you risk being refused and personally I think that's not a risk worth taking for the sake of a £5 admin fee.

I have no connection but I think the £5 is very good value for money, so I would want to pay it anyway to keep the scheme going and they do have some overheads.

I did a quote for car insurance with Prudential going through Quidco, I saved the quote as I wanted to make sure this was the best deal before buying.
I had an email from Prudential which invites me to click a link to retrieve my quote, if I do this and buy the insurance woulkd that still track through Quidco or should I start off on the Quidco site and go to Prudential site that way to make sure it tracks?

Clear your cookies & then apply again through Quidco.

Despite their claim that it's free - the final summary just before you click to buy says "No Breakdown Cover" selected.

Also when you click to view the Policy wording or summary - the links are broken.

AND they say "when making a claim and with our comprehensive cover you'll get a guaranteed courtesy car" - again the final summary just before you click to buy says "No Hire Car" selected.

A bit of a shambles if you ask me - Going to phone them tomorrow to find out what's going on.

Happened to me when I switched to Pru in July but as I already have breakdown cover I didn't bother querying it. Pru's quote was £130 less than my previous insurer plus Pru offered a further £100 via quidco so I was a happy bunny even without the free breakdown cover.

To their credit Pru Customer Services noticed the omission and apologised for not issuing the breakdown cover pack when the policy was taken out.
The breakdown cover is Green Flag Recovery Plus - at home, roadside and national recovery (should cost £85 per Green Flag website)
More good news: Pru paid quidco the £100 cashback last week sport-smiley-001.gif

Agree with frogbottler, similar thing happen back in April when my wife applied through the Pru / Quidco. Breakdown docs followed in a couple of days and Quidco paid out £130 within a couple of months I believe.
