credit card cover for faulty goods

I bought a second hand engine from a company paid by credit card. The fuel pump which came with the engine was faulty. I advised the company and confirmed that I was instructing replacement and seeking reimbursement from them. They agreed in principle but disputed the labour costs from my garage which was a main dealer. They have ended up refunding nothing so I approached the credit card company thinking they would take up the cause since I had been supplied faulty good. They say that as I have repaired the goods the credit card company is no longer responsible and I must take court action to reclaim the money. Is this correct?

The CC company is jointly liable with the seller. In obvious cases they pay voluntarily, but if they refuse, I think the only way is take court actions against both the supplier and the CC company.0

Do you think I should go back to the credit card company and claim that they should still be responsible? they said that if I had come to them at the beginning they would have taken up the cause but of course I though I was getting the money back from the company.0

Well there is a chargeback right for faulty goods. But you have to return the goods to the retailer in the 1st instance via a method that proves delivery.
You do not state the cost, so cannot say if S75 would come into play.
But 2nd hand engine and a main dealer......Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
so they think you are taking the mick with the costs, otherwise they would ofDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
