Any person (tech/non-tech) would appreciate this video.
The website first posts an article on which operating system to choose, Windows XP, Mac or Linux
http://www.comnetslash.com/2007/05/20/windows-mac-or-linux/
And then it follows directly with a video with all three performing together. Absolutely brilliant!

If the links don't work, then just go to the homepage, comnetslash.com.
The possibilities are endless on Linux.

Yes, it's an impressive video.
That setup is known as a 'virtual machine'.
You first install Ubuntu then you create an environment within it in which to install Windows. I haven't tried it because I don't think that my PC is up to it - CPU isn't good enough.
Many people just 'dual-boot'. To do this they partition their hard drive and install Ubuntu on one partition and Windows on the other. Then, when they boot up, they see a mini-menu which asks which OS they wish to use this time.
