Check through your car documents, they should have details of the code and how to unlock it. If not eg. if it's Ford you'd have to ring them and I think pay £10 for them to tell you (I think I did this once through calling into the car showroom). Or if you know the previous owner or have their phone no. give them a ring.

Ford wanted £15 for me to get my code - I bought a programme from ebay for 99p that did it - I will have a look tonight to see if the program still works and I'll let you know - only works on Fords though?

I don't see how that can work because every code will be individual and if you can buy a programme then that sounds like you can have access to every Ford owner's car which clearly can't be the case.

Brooklyn Ford in Worcestershire would only give me the code after I had paid £15 - I put the serial number into this programme I bought and it gave me the 4 digit code.

It works, thats all I know.

I took my car in to the dealer and proved I was the legitiamate driver ( It's a lease car which someone else had for 2 months before I had it ) and they looked it up on the computer. I then found the radio code card under the spare wheel:confused:
I didn't have to pay for the information.;)

I rang the dealer I bought the car off - they then contacted Peugeot who rang me back in 10 minutes and gave me the code!

It'll just be the same system as with most shareware computer program registration codes. While each code is individual to the user, they will probably all be generated using the same algorithm. Thus, if you put any serial number into the algorithm it'll give you the corresponding unlocking code.
    Nice to save.
