Help re ford ka that keeps cutting out at roundabouts
Hello you lovely folk on this sunny day...
Can any of you please help me?
I have a ford ka that runs like a dream usually but most recently it has been cutting out when i press the clutch, usually at roundabouts.. we had a mechanic come out last night who says it could be the inlet manifold (maybe air inlet manifold???) and it is rather costly. He could not give me a price and is getting back to me on Wednesday. I wonder if firstly anyone knows a ball park figure if it is this thingy and secondly if anyone suggests anything else as I am reading online all sorts of things but not an air thingy??? As you can probably tell I am a girly, well in all honesty an old lady so have not a clue... but i do know i am broke and worried my little car may be broken... advise gratefully received... thanks all...

Sounds like the idle control valve.

Either needs cleaning (with wd40) or replacing.

If it is the ICV, then it's a simple 10min job to unbolt and clean it. I know this because my ex had a Fiesta with the same engine.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
