housing benefit reduction. a solution but the council is blocking it!

As I have predicted, the property is not freed up but offered to a tenant who similarly under-occupies. This policy is not designed to free-up social housing, there is no guarantee that properties vacated are offered to tenants who fully-occupy.
But the HB amount is reduced, which is, of course, the idea.0 -

today i became aware that one of the tenants of the social housing flats is moving out tomorrow, and that they are no longer exclusively for young people. the council will be putting them up for bids next week ( it's already on the board in the council office, but no bids will be accepted until the internet site is updated over the weekend)
That is what sounds weird. The tenants were moving out on 4th May, and no bids would be accepted until after the weekend (7th May, as bank holiday).
So it's all a bit confusing.
regardless og ho weird it sounds, it is true! ok the tenant wasbr nivubf iut, but had abandoned the property.
my hosuing officer told me that the xounxil had refused to withdraw ythe property, but that he would go to his boss to overturn the decision. obviously it worked, and whille i feel bad for other people. i am struggling myself and have to make myself a priotity
should i just say 'let me starve while other people are housed'?0 -

Also, it is not a "nasty new tax", it's there for a purpose, and it's obviously working isn't it?
a single person will be moving into my 2 bed flat. so no9t a family0 -

this isnt a mutual exchange situation. someome that bid on the empty 1 bed property was given the choice by the HA. the empty 1 bed, or my 2 bed. he chose my 2 bed and thus i can move into the one bed,0 -

i have an excellent HA and their main priority ts to ensure that i am in a property that i can afford and am secure in. i cant say anything about the new tenant undericcupying because there is no shortage of housing in my area0 -

if you re4ceive HB. of you dont then its ok for a single person to occupy a 5 bed house? according to you it is!
it isnt abouut freeing homes for families,,,, its about whether you can pay
so if you have plenty oif money then the homeless and over crowded can rot?0 -

he is working and paying full rent.
does that make it ok? a family is overcrowded because someone can affors the £14 reduction in HB>
the argument out forward is that people over occupying are keeping a family overcrowded.honeless.
the fact that another single person is taking over my current property disputes this. but they are paying full rent so they can have a million spare rooms.
at least be honest and say you want to cut benefit rather than blur things and pretend to care about homeless families0
