I run a hall and we charge £30 for up to four hours, £20 for regular users. We have no trouble in letting the hall and sadly often have to disappoint people. It costs us about £7 in the winter just to heat it, plus lighting, insurance, cleaning, water rates, garbage disposal, maintenance - so I don't think our charge is excessive. e-mail me if you live in the Plymouth area.

Have you got a local social club? Often they have function rooms and will not charge a fortune for them.

    Just an idea.
