Hi, Its my little boys birthday in 6 weeks time and he wants a party. I need to hire a hall. On average how much would this cost for a couple of hours? Are they usually booked well in advance? Am I going to have trouble getting one at this short notice?
Many thanks

OUr hall costs around £15 for two hours. My wee girl had a fab traditional party last year in the hall. You need to be dead organised..games..face painting...food...but it was well worth it. My wee girl wanted fancy dress, chips from the chip shop and ice-cream cones. We had corners, pass the parcel, musical everything, punch balloons and a huge game of dodge the ball at the end. We had 45 kids and I'll book the hall next year for my middle daughters 5th birthday.
Our leisure centre costs £80 for two hours. It includes bouncy castles, trampoline and soft play for wee ones. You take your own food. Again a good party but everyone does it....I spent two hours there yesterday with one daughter and two hours there today with another. Whatever you decide
Have a great time!!0 -

Do you think Ill be able to find a hall now or have I left it a bit late to book one. I need it for six weeks time?0 -
My pal had her wee boys birthday party at a historic scotland castle. Under fives went free.........and she got a group price for the adults. Her wee boy is really into castles and knights and all the kids dressed up. She made them different coloured sashes and split them into two teams, red knights and gold knights. They hunted the castle ruins for treasure, played save the princess games, had a picninc lunch, and chased and captured a dragon with a nest of treasure......(papa dressed up, and very bruised after getting thumped with 20 swords). It was great, different, not to expensive and the kids had a great time.0

I think you should be able to get a hall no problem. Find out who your local hall keeper is and see what they can do for you. Ours is fantastic. My other pal wanted a garden party, but on the day of the party the heavens opened and down came the rain. She phoned the hall keeper who opened the hall, phoned all the guests and we moved the party in the space on an hour.0

Thanks so much, youve been a big help. Fancy dress is a great idea, so is the chip shop chips.
The castle party sounds great.
Ill get on the phone first thing to our local church.

I provisionally booked a hall today. Unfortunately they charge £60 for 2 hours plus half an hour each end for setting up and cleaning, so 3 hours. Seems quite alot of money.0

Gosh that's really expensive! Have you phoned around any other halls nearby?0

Blinkin `eck thats steep. Do you have a community centre local to you? Mine charges £10 for two hours or £15 for a half day (four hours). Alternatively council run leisure centres usually have rooms they rent out for parties, some pubs do it too if they have the room. Get ringing around!:A:A:A:A:A:A0

that's far too much!!!! and that's a chuch hall?? Can you not have a wee word with the minister. I've never hired the church hall but I have have a loan of tables and things...free of charge. I thought it was a donation to the church if you hired the hall. Maybe I'm just lucky.
good luck!0 -
Our hall charges a similar price £60.00 for two hours and £30.00 for each hour after that. We had planned to have my little boys birthday party there but decided that it was too expensive once we had paid for the hall, entertainer food etc. In the end we took him and his little friends to a childrens farm and they had a wonderful time (was freezing cold tho as it was the end March).
We also had problems finding a hall available for the time we wanted. One hall didnt take kids party bookings yet they would have a dog show (they have playschool there all week so not sure what the difference is), the other hall was booked and our last option offered us 3pm until 5pm on a Sunday which for three year olds was too late. This was also another reason we went to the farm.
Hope you all have a lovely time.
PS Poundland currently have party stuff in - Disney Princess and Superman plus some party bags with gifts.0
