OR phone call in the morning...YIKES

I feeling really nervous, I will be getting my phone call in the morning. Don't know why I'm nervous really because everything I have put in my form is 100% true,

only thing I'm worried about is that I have a computer and I have a 2 week all inclusive holiday booked (if I could have cancelled it I would have) should I mention the holiday? if so could they take it off me or something? same question for the computer, it's only a £500 laptop, (but will be worth much less now it's a year old.)

also my children have playstation and tv etc that they have gotten over the years for christmas-could they be taken?

thanks in advance

They're unlikely to want to take children's items, as they're not your possessions, they're your childrens. You don't need to mention the computer if you haven't put it on your SOA already unless you've recently purchased it. I think you should mention the holiday, if for no other reason that the OR might write to you or ring while you're away & may wonder why you're not responding. :)

Try not to worry about the phone call. Make sure you have a copy of your SOA in front of you & any other supporting documents you can lay your hands on, like bank statements, insurance policy numbers etc, plus a notepad & pen. Any question they ask will be based around your SOA, but if you don't know the answers to their questions, just be honest & say so, make a note of the question & say you'll have to come back to them with the details. Good luck. :)

From what I've read the laptop should be fine. Best to be honest. £500 isn't the sort of money (more like £100 if they're lucky on resale) that they are after. Holiday... you are entitled to a holiday during BR and there is an allowance for it. If they can't get the money back from you for it then it should be safe.

Mike and the others are more expert on this than I but have a quick poke round some of the similar threads and visit the Bankcruptcy supports' club for some more information http://bankruptcy.informe.com/viewforum.php?f=1 http://bankruptcysupportersclub.co.uk/default.aspx.

Good luck tomorrow. I'm sure it will be fine.

    Good Luck!
  • Thanks for the replies....I am due to go on my holiday in 4 weeks, so everything is ready now really, so my children especially would be devestated if it was taken from us. it cost me around 1300 but with it only being 30 days till I fly I don't think I'd get much back now.... what do you think?

Laptop shouldn't be a problem, in fact I wouldn't even mention it. The OR may well query the holiday simply because it was paid for when you probably knew you were insolvent. Having said that, I doubt very much whether he will ask you to cancel it and pay over whatever refund you may be entitled to. This is one of the grey areas and may depend on the individual you deal with but don't worry

I hated that! it wasn't actually that bad, but after going through my statement of affairs they have decided that I should have £200 left each month and so I have to pay £102 per month... if I had £200 or even £102 left each month I wouldn't be in the situation I am in now!!!

I got upset due to the fact that I now have to struggle to pay £102 each month for the next 3 years so I think they rushed it through a little bit so they didn't mention anything I have and I didn't get the chance to mention the computer or holiday.

I am now more stressed than I was before, God knows how I can find £102, anyway I'm going for now so I can sob in a quiet room!! what with this and other stresses that are going on in my life I now wish I could go to sleep and NEVER wake up.

thanks to all for their advice,

omg sorry for posting that when yours is also due today....

it wasn't actually that bad at all, so please don't let it worry you, I'm just down cos everything is going wrong at the moment, the interview was fine-the woman I spoke to was nice, it just seems that my forms weren't very good and now they think I have money that I don't!but that is more to do with my forms than anything else... but I am sure yours will go fine, good luck for this afternoon, I'm sure you'll be on here later laughing at the ease of it all.
