MSE News: Nationwide to ditch Cheshire, Derbyshire and Dunfermline brands

I've just moved my Cash ISA to Cheshire BS, in part because of MSE's recommendation - the rate is guaranteed at a minimum 1.8% until October next year, and I'll be royally peeved if Nationwide renege on that!0

if you have a guaranteed rate, nationwide will honour it. they're still honouring (BBR+2%
2.5% mortgage rates for older mortgage accounts - which is losing them a lot more money than your account. 0 -
I've got a guaranteed 3.06% so I hope they honour that!0

Nationwide has already made a start on cutting savings rates where it can. But this has nothing to do with the rebranding (which is a couple of years away).
There's no change of management involved here. Cheshire BS etc ceased to exist as organisations years ago. They have no separate product management. They're just brand names."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0
