Can I just check if it is possible to get the full 3k overdraft if i change from Lloyds to them?
Also do their student credit cards go to 1.25k like Lloyds one do?though I think their absolut max is 1.5k)
What are your experience with HSBC/Halifax?
can you stooze effectively with them?

You'll have to ask them, some banks will match the overdraft if you provide confirmation of your previous one.
Apparently not many Halifax customers get the full 3k, where if you go to other banks you'll almost certainly get the max for your year of study (generally 2k if 3rd year or higher).
As a Student I got a standard Nationwide card - got a 4.5k limit now. Better than the £350 that I had on my Natwest student card that they point blank refused to ever consider increasing, despite being happy for me to have a bigger o/d each year!0

They will see any existing overdraft on your CRA files, which they will consult as part of their decision-making on whether you will be offered any overdraft, and how much.
I am not sure what you mean by "the full £3K". If it is something student-account specific, you should check whether their T&Cs limit you to one student account. Some banks do, and they can obviously see what's already registered on your CRA files.0

            Re the Credit Cards:
I believe the HSBC Student credit card comes with a max £500 limit. Halifax and lloyds are the same banking group so I would imagine that you should expect similar limits unless your credit score has changed significantly since you opened your lloyds account. Maximum credit Limit on the Halifax student credit card is 1k.
 Re the OD:
I couldn't tell you how easy it is to get the overdrafts but I should imagine that they are for students with perfect credit history and has some sort of history with the bank. (I may be wrong, Im just speculating)0

I would first convert my Lloyds student to a current ( and then Vantage account)
But I don't want to lose my 1k , soon to be 1.5 OD next month or the 1.25k student CC
At the moment my credit file has a lot of enquiries recently BUT I have never missed a payment!0

So many variables mean that others are unlikely to be able to guess what overdraft you are likely to get.
I can say that I opened a HSBC student account in Aug 2011 and was given a £500 overdraft which I have not been able to increase. They credit check for each application for an increase.0

Well I opened a bank account last week (to get their regular saver)-if that counts
But Halifax CC isn't as generous as Lloyds- they give me 1.25k(they voluntarily raised it last month!)
My payment history is perfect -the only adverse thing would be the number of recent searches!0

That's not right- they should raise it after 2 years!0

Though they'd just be making a guess whether any other account on your credit report is a student account or not (unless you tell them). It may seem obvious to a human, but if a computer is doing the credit check then presumably it would have to give the benefit of the doubt - it's easily possible to have decent sized overdrafts on non-student accounts.0
