Can I cancel switch of energy suppliers

Hi,

I went through uswitch recently and found the cheapest supplier / tarrif (by miles !) was Spark Energy / Spark Advance - I couldn't switch through the uswitch site so I completed the switch through the Spark site

I have just read some of the reviews and problems with this company and want to cancel my order. I switched 24th April and I sent out an email today (3rd May) asking to cancel my order

My order said I have a 7 day cooling off period

What are my options ?

I received an email from Spark on the 24th April but nothing since then

3rd May is 9 days so you are now relying on their good will ...... best of luck with that.

Yes, if you've missed the cooling off period changes are you'll have to pay a cancelation fee depending on the type of contract you signed.

If you save more by switching than you would pay for the cancelation fee, it's probably worth switching. if not, I'd just stick with them and hope for the best!

You will not get any 'goodwill' from Spark once you've gone beyond the cooling-off period. And good luck switching away-they're the Hotel California of utility suppliers...

Yes - just had confirmation from Spark that I'm out of the cooling off period

Its not a fixed period deal and no early termination fees.

OK - I'll just be careful with my dealings with them and keep a monthly record of the meter readings - it was a very cheap deal - a few hundred pounds per year cheaper than the next best

I'll let everyone know how it goes
