Hi there, this is my first post so hello all! Has anyone had any dealings with an advertising company called on the ball advertising? They rang up my partners window cleaning business saying that they can get him commercial work by following up hits on our google advert, I'm wary of this as its asking for money over the phone which for me is a big no no! Any help or advice would be really appreciated with regards to this company. Thank you

No experience of them, but one thing that immediately jumped out at me is that their website is registered using a proxy service to hide the registrant details.
Also, they seem a bit confused about who they are -
Their Contact Us page says "On the Ball Advertising
T/A Flag Marketing", yet they give a company registration number for "FLAG MARKETING LIMITED".
What exactly are they trying to charge you for? Their Google advertising page appears to offer local Google Adwords for £160, so all you will be getting is them researching keywords and writing an ad for you - you will still have to pay PPC fees to Google.0 -
Being a new member i'm not allowed to put links on here, so taken them all out! i got done for £320, and theres lots more. just type this number into google 01614777430 then go to site called 'whocallsme'

TERMS OF SERVICE
Flag marketing limited will always be referred to as the seller and the company/business or individual will be referred to as the buyer. Flag marketing limited will guarantee to create and advertise an online advertisement through Facebook based on the demographic information chosen at the point of sale. Once payment has been accepted and the buyer has read and agreed to the terms and conditions the contract has started. The contract will automatically renew in a 28 day cycle from the date your advert goes live, unless there has been a cancellation request via telephone or email. If the payment falls on a bank holiday the payment will be taken the day before. The buyers advertisement will be activated within 48 hours from the time of sale unless the seller or the buyer have otherwise specified different arrangements. The advertisement provided by the seller will follow the policies and guidelines by Facebook. For more information on Facebook’s latest guidelines on advertising you can go to facebook.com. Flag marketing limited will not be held responsible for any issues regarding the copyright on the adverts created on behalf of the buyer which have been taken with the permission and supplied by the buyer or any other source which is authorised by the buyer to be included in the advertisement.
CANCELLATION OF THE CONTRACT
From day one of your advert going live onto Facebook the contract can be cancelled immediately at any time in your first month. Notice of cancellation must be given before the end of the month, otherwise the next payment will be taken. Every month thereafter is a rolling monthly agreement which requires just a 28 day cancellation notice via phone or email. To cancel the contract you can just ring 0161 477 7430 or email
. If you wish to cancel and there is an outstanding balance on your account then this must be paid before we can action the cancellation.
PAUSED
If the buyer requests the advert to be paused the seller will take a months payment until the buyer requests the advert to go live again. Adverts will be paused and brought offline immediately if payment has not been made by the buyer and once the payment has been received the advert will be live within 48 hours of payment, also the 28 day agreement will still be rolling and active while the advert has been paused through non payment. The impressions guarantee is based on the package the buyer has selected. Impressions are based on the area, gender and age, and this could affect the amount of guaranteed impressions available.
REFUND
If the advert has not gone live then the buyer may be entitled to a refund in part or in full from the first payment. If the advertisement has already gone live then no refund will be due. Refunds have to requested within 28 days from the date of entering into contract via email or telephone. If in the event you have requested any extra products (search terms, groups, pages) and have gone live then no refund will be due. If you have a complaint please email
Please do not use them, I'm trying to get money back!0 -
The standard advice on here is to never respond to cold approaches: it definitely is a big no no!
We have seen many examples of people who handed money over and got nothing in return.
Word of mouth and personal contacts work best for many people.
I have seen many informal ads on bus shelters, with tear-off strips for the contact details and they always have strips missing.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

i had a bad experience with this company, you can read about my experience here ontheballadvertisingscam.blogspot0

Having agreed and paid for a one month trial, I instructed them at the time NOT to keep a record of my credit card details, in what I was told was a recorded conversation.
They ignored my instructions and charged my card with a further payment in excess of £250, after three weeks of supposed advertising.
My subsequent emails have been returned UNDELIVERED from two different hosts!
My credit card company have credited the second payment back to my account. Not a pleasant experience.0 -
They are registered as an avoid company on the failure site.
I would never respond to a cold call (well they would never get through to me)0 -
It is very rarely that a cold call actually offers anything of interest.0

They called me because I teach people to drive, I was not keen but they kept on and on, hassle hassle, after a while I agreed to one month no more, ha ha. Yes, well the short version is leave them well alone, I have contacted the fraud office about them. They posted a few positive feed back comments, supposedly from clients on a site slating them. I rang all the supposed happy clients and guess what .... one had not heard of them nor ever advertised with them and the others were conspicuous in their absence.
Then I let all the main driving instructor associations know about their tactics so they could warn all driving instructors to avoid doing business with them.
They are bad news, very bad news, never had one response from the supposed advert.0
