Shower mixer tap, poor flow.

Hi. we have this tap/shower http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/475909

The pressure on the tap is fantastic but very poor through the shower hose, even when held down low.

Not sure why as we had a shower/tap before this one which was better than the electric shower in our last house.

Any idea why this might be?

Don't think we can fit a thermostatic one now without re-tiling.

Thanks

Unscrew the hose at both ends and check that there are no blockages such as an incorrectly seated rubber washer.

Is the diverter valve opening fully when you operate it?

What's the flow rate like with the shower head off the hose?

Have you actually measured the flow rate to see what the difference is in l/m between tap and shower?

You have a flow problem not a pressure problem btw.

    Cheers

Edit: Just had a look at your link. Those silly slimline designer showerheads won't give you any sort of reasonable performance under gravity only conditions. They look pretty but frankly thats all they are. Change the head for something sensible or pump it.

I'd try a bigger shower head. I thought the pressure in the showers of my new house was a bit weak, but after I switched for a bigger shower head it's massively better.

Hi Sounds like Hard Water(Scale) could be the problem, try taking off the complete shower head and flexi, carefully check the pressure without this on, Good Luck.
