How would you intend to put £40k into an ISA that is limited to £5760 of subscription per tax year? Non-starter, I'm afraid.
Free the dunston one next time too.

£40K can very easily be put to work at 3%AER in a combination of 123, Lloyds and BOS Vantage current accounts. No ISA and no instant access savings account pays any more. Even fixed-term savings accounts don't come close to 3% AER if you want to be able to get at the money within 24 months.

Though you can get a 2-year 3% AER ISA with Santander, and there are a couple of Regular Savers at 4% an 6% AER. Reg Savers usually tie up your money for 12 months. The downside of ISAs and Reg Savers is that you are limited in how much you can deposit.
