How to Fit Self adhesive Vinyl Planks?

Hi ,
I am trying to fit self adhesive vinyl planks in my Kitchen can anyone tell me where to start the first plank. Also how do I cut round a door frame exactly. The wall each side of the door are not exactly in line with each other i.e one is back slightly further than the other & I have wasted 1 plank at the moment. Any tips would be greatly appreciated in DIY terms.

Difficult to give advice not knowing what shape and size kitchen is.

Only advice I can give is :
When you have laid your first row, the piece you cut off surplus from the first row, use this as your first piece to start the next row.

So, if you are working from left to right, all the cuts will be measured on the right hand side, and the bit left over is the start of the next row on the left hand side.
This ensures that you have no wastage, and all the cut tiles are round the outside.
