Cannot Source Windowscreen
Any wiz kids who can answer this one.
My window screen as cracked right across, and it needs a replacement, but they company cannot source one in the Uk.
The car is a Vauxhall VXR8,and I would be committing a offence if I drove it.
I obviously need my vehicle, and cannot risk,a fine or points.Any ideas?
cheers

Wait until they order one in it seems!
Might have to come from Australia, isn't it the same car as the Holden Monaro? Either that or wherever the VXR8 is screwed together.
Could well be in for a long wait I'm afraid. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Time to buy a banger to run around in. When I had this problem it took me six months to get a windscreen.0

What about one of the specialists such as http://www.monkfishperformance.co.uk/0

Bite the bullet and order one VOR from a Vauxhall dealer. There will be one somewhere in the network.0

OP, who have you contacted? Was the car purchased in the UK dealer network, have your tried your local Vauxhall dealer?0

Google VXR8 windscreen, it comes up with loads of results. Somebody must have one.0

Is it practical or even possible to remove and reuse a windscreen from modern cars?
If so, there's always this option (provided there is an intact one on there)

Most of that would buff out

The sellers imply that there is more than one vehicle being broken so if this is the case then there might be a windscreen available.
On the listing shown, there does appear to be a lot of the front end gone, but there is no clear sign of accident damage so the windscreen may be okay. (it could be worth an e-mail to find out, especially if it is possible to remove without breaking it).0 -
Cheers guys, tried both Monkfish and local dealers. Both say they are on back order.I have emailed ther guy on ebay,so who knows.Once again cheers folks.0
