Car Insurance Premium after an accident? Please help!

Yesterday I was stopped at a roundabout behind another car. The roundabout was clear and the car in front of me pulled off so I did too. She then emergency stopped for no reason and I went into the back of her. It was a very elderly lady who was not actually aware that an accident had taken place until I went over to her car. She said she stopped because she thought she saw a car. Phoned my Insurance company, Shielas Wheels, and they said the accident would have to go down as my fault. Very annoyed as I had stopped the correct distance behind the car infront and as we were just pulling away there wasnt enough time to get a bigger distance behind the car in front.
What I am worried about is how much this will affect my premium.
I have been with Shielas Wheels for four years and have 7 years protected no claims bonus.
Last year I was driving along a main road and an elderly man reversed out his driveway into my side and even though he admitted fault, my insurance premium went up by £100.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

You can find out how your next premium will look by doing dummy quotes online.0

I think you will have to accept that you were at fault for this. There was plenty of time to get a bigger distance but you pulled away too soon. If you had waited a second or two, there would have been a bigger gap and you would've had enough time to stop.Very annoyed as I had stopped the correct distance behind the car infront and as we were just pulling away there wasnt enough time to get a bigger distance behind the car in front.
Although your NCB is protected, your premium may go up0 -
Afraid this is a classic fault. You gambled, and lost - the third party could have imagined a herd of elephants approaching the roundabout, but it was you who made physical contact and damaged her property.
You'll probably lose 20% from your NCD at your next renewal.0 -
Even though your NCB is protected your next premium will be heavily loaded so expect a substantial increase.
Also as this is your 2nd accident make sure you don't have another or you will lose some NCB. Some insurers only allow 2 accidents within a three year period before you start to lose NCB.0
