Lloyds TSB Premier Duo Amex - Hard to get ?

The Lloyds TSB Premier Duo Amex / Mastercard allows you to collect 1.25 Avios Points per £1 rather than 1 point per pound on the standard Duo Avios card. I know about the £50 annual fee, but is this a easy card to get or would it be classed as a 'Prime' card ?.
Thanks

I don't know about "prime", but neither the Premier or the standard one are "sub-prime" cards.
If you are acceptable for either of these then you are also likely to be acceptable for the BAEC Amex cards which offer the chance to collect more Avios if thats what you want.0 -
I would say the Lloyds ones might be a bit easier to get as Amex themselves are a little picky sometimes.
That said, however, my advice would be to get both (although not at the same time). Apply for the Lloyds one first but, and this is important, ensure you apply for the card through the Avios webpage. It's effectively like a cashback site so find the card on the Avios site, click the apply button and it will take you to the Lloyds page to apply. They have a special offer running at the moment whereby if you do this you will receive an extra 20,000 avios on the Premier card (£50 annual fee) or 15,000 avios on the standard card.
The requirements to qualify for the bonus are that you must spend £500 per month for the first three months (£1500 total) on the Amex card, spend on the mastercard doesn't count.
Note that this is offered through the Avios site, not the BA Executive Club site - if you want you can then move the Avios over to a BA account at a later date with no fee.
If you're applying for these cards then you'd be foolish not to sign up for the bonus through avios.
Anyway, as I said, get both. Once you've triggered the bonus on the Lloyds cards, apply for the Amex BA card (I'd recommend the premium plus but it has an annual fee) and put all your spending on that until you trigger the bonus 19,000 avios on that card.0
