Problem with a search engine I can't get rid of

Hi there, I'd be really grateful if anyone can talk me through this please.
After a download last week I've been left with a new search engine which I really don't want and have tried so hard to get rid of but it wont budge. In the address bar it says: http://www2.delta-search.com/?affID=121240&babsrc=HP_ss&mntrId=A29020107A2DBD92 and this opens in every tab when clicking for a new tab. I've been back into control panel to re-enter google as my default home page but google is already there, so I've re-saved it to make sure and I've also done system restore to a date just before this happened but nothing is working.
Can anyone give me some advice please - you can tell I'm just a novice!
Many thanks

Quick and easy - run AdwCleaner and choose the delete option.

It'll also remove the other associated junk that was almost certainly installed too.0 -
+1 for AdwCleaner. I ran it last week and it removed the remnants of the Babylon toolbar that I thought I had nuked months ago.0

In the past I have used the ''uninstall a program'' option from the control panel.0

Many toolbars and other "nasties" don't present themselves in that location.0
