capital one

Have just had a letter through saying they were reducing my interest rates so i have had a £200 limit for 2 years now.
I called to ask for limit increase, he asked how much and i said i wasnt sure, just wanted a bit more as a back up for holiday.

He said he would send a letter out and i had to phone to action it once i receive it.
Is this normal? does that mean its been accepted?

  • Never heard of this but the fact that he didn't say no is probably a good sign. I think what might happen is that they will reassess your credit almost as if you were a new applicant and allocate you a new limit.

For future reference, if you're asking for a credit limit increase, it's a good idea to have a figure in mind and be able to justify that figure up if they ask. Just asking for 'more' might make you sound a little grabby!
