My Experian file not upto date (is this a problem)

Hi

I just logged back into my experian credit file after like 2 years and i found out that they did not even update my address nor any details oof my electoral roll since my last login.

So so far I did some credit check for car loan and got it refused because the lender said the could not trace my address ...

i am bit worried now is this experian's fault? If so what could i do to rectify this?

    Ask experian.

Maybe check equifax or noodle and if the details are right then maybe its Experian at fault.
  • Just curious, but are you paying them a monthly fee to not bother checking your details are up to date?

I would suggest you save yourself some money and stop that! (whilst you're on the phone to them about the above problem, as DCFC79 suggests). SUggest you call, not email.
    Friendly greeting!

Have you checked with the council that you are definitely registered on the electoral roll? The CRA's take their info from the electoral register. If you get a letter from your council confirming you were registered on the electoral roll and forward that to any of the 3 CRA's (Experian, Equifax and Call Credit) then they will amend their records accordingly.

Hi equifax and noodle re correct which I have been using for long time. So never had to check experian. Equifax score is 420 which is good

If experian at fault for me getting refusal will they fix it ?

When you are declined for finance, the lender should advise which CRA they used. If you are able, supported by documentary proof, to demonstrate that none of the reasons for decline apply or able to provide further addresses or information that may affect this decision, you should contact them and ask them to review the decision.

No i was not paying them for some time. Because I was using noodle and equifax. Even if I dont pay them they should have my credit file updated rite? what every one in the UK should pay experian to get credit. What are they upto this is really ridiculous(I am aware this does not happen to all but in my case this absurd).
  • Just saw this, makes me think: if you're not paying Experian, you wont see an updated file.

You'd need to pay them the £2 to get your latest report.
