Seem to be having a glut of PC issues at the moment.

My parents PC resets itself during bootup, it will start up in safe mode though and I've done a restore point from a few weeks ago but its still got the same problem, when you try to load window xp normally does anyone have any ideas??

Its XP Home btw

I would ask what they have recently updated or added then remove it, sounds like some sort of driver problem

if not then look at the most recent Microsoft updates in add/remove programs and see if it's one of those

also unplug all usb devices etc

back up you prc and give it a brand new reformat! Watch what you download, coz it could be avirus or it may be the p.C.

Hi Brown Toa, they say they haven't installed anything on it recently but I will check.

Also just realised that they never updated or used the anti virus software that i put on it and they only use it only for email and looking at stuff on the web.

Will try both your guys suggestions and see what happens thanks

no need to format.....seems to be strikes response to everything

I would try a XP repair installation rather than a format if you cannot get it to boot into Xp properly

then do all the windows updates etc
