    I think if you book in advance on their website some discount is offered. maybe not a large one though.

    I am sorry to not be am not able to help but I have never seen any reasonable discounts for August dates on The London Eye. We have Merlin standard annual passes and they exclude going on The London Eye in August.

    If you don't mind a climb of over 300 steps going up the Monument is cheap and gives a nice view over parts of London. YOu could also consider Westminster Cathedral Tower as it gives good views actoss London and has a lift. For free Parlaimanet Hill near Hampstead Heath tube station is a high point with good views over London.
