Windscreen cover

Car insurance includes windscreen cover, free repairs and £75 x/s if new screen is required. Bonnet flew open on the motorway smashing the screen, if a claim is made does it go down as a claim at renewal? Will it affect future premiums? Insurer is Direct Line btw.

Yes, it's a claim and has to be disclosed.
Do some dummy quotes online with and without the claim to see if it affects the premium.
(Though if you already reported it then you will have to disclose it whether or not you eventually put in a claim)0 -
Only just happened 1/2 hour ago, will get a couple of quote first before I call the insurers. Looks like it may be cheaper to just stump up myself.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Avoid the nationals and get quotes from local independents who don't work for the insurers - much cheaper!0

It is a claim and does have to be declared however some insurers may load the premium for it and some will ignore it other than for the purpose of any maximum number of glass claims they may allow before removing glass cover at the next renewal0

I've got a couple of quotes this morning and am going to pay myself. My policy only started 2 weeks ago and I have full no claims protected but rather than pay £75 and get my premiums loaded for the next 5 years I've opted to pay £140 all in and have done with it. Cheers.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Just to recap on the above, after doing a bit of ringing around I've now got the price down to £115 all inc and its getting fitted tomorrow.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
