Barclaycard Super Balance Transfer Offer

Options
Dear Knowledgeable Stoozers,

I received a Barclaycard offer for a 0% money transfer (and balance transfer) for 18 months but with a fee of 3.9%...

Although that sounds incredibly tempting there aren't any savings accounts giving anything like 4% out there, are there? So, it's not so super is it? And certainly not as a stooze?

Just checking...

I guess that the only way you'll realise a profit is if your mortgage rate is more than 3.9% and allows overpayments or you're willing to invest the cash in the stock market.
    Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
    Mortgage July 2007 - £0

    ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)

I could be wrong, but since the fee is a one-off and the mortgage rate is an APR I don't think you'd need as much as 3.9%?

For this 18 month deal, and even after factoring in 2.25% minimum payments, 3.2% would return a (very small) profit.

Long gone are the days when we could borrow fee-free and save at 6.3% AER! ;)
