Nigel Slater does a "cottage" pie, made with turkey mince and root vegetable mash on top.

That might be an idea for the top of a fish pie.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

How about adding a wee bit of salt? Sounds like there's oomph in there, it just needs teasing out. It's amazing what a sprinkling of salt will do.

I never used to cook with salt because of the health warnings. Then I realised once I was cooking everything from scratch that there was very little "hidden" salt in my diet any more so I could afford to add a dash here and there. Boy what a difference that made to flavour. Not salty, just tasty.

I was going to ask where the seasoning was? sonastin beat me to it!
I would use sea salt and white pepper in both the sauce and the mash to give it oomph - judging by the rest of your recipe it really SHOULD be quite flavoursome anyway.

Does anyone have a link to the Jamie Oliver recipe mentioned a couple of times? Or know which book it is in?
