using amazon web services??

Options
Help please!

I'm attempting to build a web page that will have a search toolbar to search Amazon's database using PHP i.e. type in a keyword like 'money diet book' in my webpage and it will return search results from Amazon.

I have a working example I downloaded from the Internet but I can't seem to understand how it works! The WSDL file confuses me, I think I need it but I don't know what to use it for:P does that make sense?

Has anyone here used Amazon Web services before? I'm not good with Java, so I'm avoiding that! I'm hoping to do it in PHP instead so if anyone has tips/suggestions, please do let me know!

thanks very much in advance
