Waiting for renewal pack? Childcare?

Hiya,

I've rang up tax credits and been told I can't update my income untill my renewal pack comes through...kind of annoying since they *assumed* we would be on 5k more this year then we actally are so are paying us less then last year now were in the new year but we can't change this it seems even though income is lower!!

Im going back to work at end of May I belive I can still call up with my childcare costs but does this mean I will get extra for childcare but when my renewal comes through it will go up again? Or has anyone else had this and they have done it together or can I not get any help with childcare untill my renewal comes through?

Also whilst your here...do they pay childcare in advance or do they do it after? I.e If I am paying £30 a week as of 27/05/13 and are due to recieve tax credits the week after would I get only the 27th May week paid or would I get 5 weeks (the week before and the 4 weeks in advance?)

Just trying to sort my budjet out as were going to be really short for next few months.

Ill just add as far as I am aware they will be paying 70%

I did something similar for a friend in March. He works and receives the Disability Element in his own right - has done for many years. However his wife made a claim for DLA back in May 2012 and it took until February 2013 before it was sorted - she was awarded HRC & HRM backdated to May 2012.

This would have entitled them to the extra Severe Disability Element as well backdated to May 2012.

By the time HMRC had opened and received my letter on his behalf it had gone past 5th April. They said that they couldn't change their 2012/13 award to give credit for the approx £1000 extra that they owe them as the end of the year had passed. They said that the only way it can be done is on renewal and that they will have to wait for the pack that should be with them by June 2013. Once that is completed and returned they would look at the whole of 2012/13 and if money is due, it will be sent to them but it can take up to 3 months after July 2013 to do this.

Hope this is the right answer your looking for.
When I called to change childcare I had to call 7 days before no earlier.

So I rang the day the changes started from but mine was reducing by about 65 a week.

I didn't think they did it more than 7 days in advance. This was a while ago so things may have changed
