Barclaycard have sent me a cheque and it says 0% intrest on new balance transfers for 6 months,
can i just pay this into my bank or will it be treted as a cash advance?
Basically i ordered something from land of leather and got refused credit so i want to use the Barclaycard offer to pay for it.
thanks in advance

Usually cheques are treated as cash advances. Read small print or phone them.satan666wayne wrote:...can i just pay this into my bank or will it be treted as a cash advance?0 -
Totally agree with Grumbler. I have never heard of Barclaycard being so generous before... The cynic in me thinks there must be a catch....

the exact wording is
" 0% p.a. intrest on new balance transfers for 6 months.
present the attached barclaycard cheque before 05/05/2005,
and the amount of the cheque , up to £5000, will benefit from
0% p.a. interest for 6 months. A fee applies,min £2 see the enclosed 'balance transfers-how they work' leaflet. "
the fee is 2%0 -
I'd still call and check, plus read the T&C's very carefully. 2% of 5k is £100.00 if my math are correct?0

2% is their usual charge for cash withdrawals, balance transfers and cheques.satan666wayne wrote:...A fee applies, min £2 see the enclosed 'balance transfers-how they work' leaflet. "...the fee is 2%
P.S. Be extremely careful if you have some balance on the card at the moment. It is very likely that in this case your future payments will go towards new 0% balance transfer and you will pay interest on the intitial balance.0 -
Rang them its ok to pay off my 'overdraft' with it,
I have a nil balance 3k limit but i only need to do £1200
so thats only a £24 fee0
