Can someone please advise me on this hard drive problem?

I have a Sony Vaio pc with a 30GB cdrive and a 120gb d-drive. The problem is that the C-drive is virtually full with only about 1gb left on it which wont let windows xp defragment it. The file system is NTFS. Is there a way to switch the drives without physically removing them and altering the jumpers etc? How can I copy the entire contents of my drive c to drive d if not?
Also there appears to be a non functioning version of windows xp pro along with my useable xp home version on booting up- how to I remove the non functioning xp pro from the dual boot screen?
Sorry for all the qs!

In regards to the Defrag, Windows cannot Defrag the drive because there is not enough space available for it to move files around.

To defrag, you could move some of the larger data folders across to the big drive, defrag the 30GB one and then move the folders back (if required) after a defrag.
Get rid of any unnecessary temp files first too.

Right-click My Computer - Properties - Advanced tab - Settings in Startup and Recovery - Edit, and remove the XP Pro option. Or edit c:\boot.ini directly (it's a hidden protected OS file).

try https://www.ccleaner.com to free up some space, untick the yahoo toolbar option during install.

I have two physical drives, stupidly Sony set up the Cdrive as the one with the lower capacity!
Thanks for everyones help so far. Is there a quick way to send an image of all the files I have on cdrive to the d drive or is it a case of slowly click and transfer?

back up all your data first on the second drive. then restore your c drive to when you first aquired the PC.
then import your present data, as and when you require it.

cleaning up the c drive first, will make all backups etc much faster. at the same time, you can get rid of stuff you never/rarely use.
    Get some gorm.

personally i'd just create a folder on the secon drive and copy the contents of My Documents etc to it. Use C: as a system drive for installed programs and D: for file storage etc.
