Few questions re new kitchen items

A few more questions re items may be adding to kitchen design:
Plinth drawers- had seen these in various catalogues, any experience of what they will look like in a white high gloss handless kitchen. Wondering if it looks odd having the plinth broken up rather than having a long continuous run of plinth- would welcome any comments re this?
Telescopic extractors- looking at one of these to keep a continuous line along top units - any experience of one? It's the one where you pull out a narrow strip at front when you want to use extractor.
Am a bit of a bleach queen, guessing there will be no problems bleaching a white ceramic sink?
Should be able to include a full height 300mm pullout basket larder. Are they as good as they look? Will they hold quite a lot or is there a better option for the 300 space?
Thanks once again, look forward to your comments/advice.

I suggest you go to a few kitchen show rooms both the DIY stores and small independents. That way you will be able to see a variety of kitchens.
Then open and close all the cupboards and drawers.
At the same time visit friends and family especially if they have had a kitchen done in the last 3 years and talk to them about what they don't like about their kitchen including the kitchen sink.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

When our 300mm pullout larder was installed (Benchmarx) I thought it had too few wire cages. I asked the installer if he could get more but he said he could only buy them for £70, he mentioned that someone else had asked the same thing so it's not just me. So I bit the bullet and paid the ridiculously high price (no doubt available for less somewhere else) but still think that, depending on how high the items you store are, another shelf could easily fit it. I don't store bottles in mine as I have somewhere else next to my hob for oils and vinegars, spices live there too. I don't store breakfast goods in the larder either. But with the extra shelf I can fit all my other dried, tinned and jarred goods comfortably. There are only two of us but we like to cook!0

White Ceramic sinks have no problem with bleach but they are prone to surface marks . To get rid of them, visit your local plumbers merchant and invest in a ceramic rubber. They are not cheap but are well worth it.
Most people love pull out larders, and though an extra shelf may be good, watch out you do not overload them above the recommended weight limit. This is when you get problems.0 -
I answered one of your other threads. I have a 300mm pull out larder and I HATE it. Cannot wait to be rid of it.
Bleach won't be as big a issue for the sink as it will the rest of the planet.
Had plinth drawers in a previous (very small) kitchen. They were very useful and how much time do you spend looking at kitchen plinths anyway?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
If you have more than 300mm (actually between 450mm - 600mm), look at a larder with internal drawers. These are much more practical as all your storage is at or below eye level and you pull out individual drawers. If not, the 300mm pullout larders are a good idea. Bear i mind though that they need to be properly loaded and as cddc said, do not overload. Also make sure loading is uniform. Pullout larders wider than 300mm are also not the best idea as they can get very heavy and unweildy.
Regards plinth drawers - you may want to look at kitchen systems that do not work on 720mm carcases and instead look at systems that work on carcase heights on 780-800mm. You don't pay extra for additional drawers and the storage is within the cabinet rather than under it. Dont forget that a drawer in the plinth is still going to be rather awkward to get into. We’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks Ryder72, due to layout of room think we can only get a 300 larder in. Did not think about different height base units. Do you know if places like Howdens and Magnet do them or would they have to be specially made?
Will google ceramic rubber and have a look.Jan Grocery challenge

I dont know of any English manufacturers that do carcases that aren't 720mm high. Perhaps someone can do it as a special but you might not get doors to go with it.
Try a studio that does European kitchens as a lot of them do larger carcases. If you are looking at Magnet (not Magnet Trade) you should find some within your price range and much better quality too. We’ve had to remove your signature. What's the difference between Magnet units and Magnet trade units please?Jan Grocery challenge

Others on the forum in the know can provide definitive answers but as far as I know its the same specification offered through Magnet trade but the range is limited. I may of course be wrong on this. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
