msn messenger can't launch

Hi,

I have recently bought a lap top and can't launch msn messenger

I used to be able to hit "run as administrator" then open it up but this does not work now
the operating system is vista

Any help please

What make is the laptop?

Try uninstalling MSN messenger and then re-downloading it. Or on the add/remove program page click repair on msn messenger. These two things have worked for me before;)

appears that there are some issues with lack of memory and this happening

It's an Acer Aspire 3680

I have tried repairing it on add/remove programmes

I then removed it and installed the new link you gave me but I still can't launch it

I've ot the feeling it's a memory issue, you may have to live with it until they fix the bug

I thought it was Acer, this is a common problem, its to do with the Acer eDataSecurity Management software.

There is a patch you need to download from Acer:

On this subject, I have just bought an Acer laptop, but cannot download msn messenger at all. When I try I just get the message "internet explorer cannot open the web page". I haven't had a problem with any other pages and am definately online. Can any one help! The tech people at Acer say it is a problem with Microsoft but on my other computer I had no problem downloading it today, so it must be an acer problem.
