Where has it downloaded to?

I tried to install msn messenger, but it downloaded the came up with an error, the usual "...has encountered and error and has to shut down"

Tried again and got half way through download and happened again, so gave up.

Wanted to delete the downloaded files but I cant find them!

Anyone any idea where they are downloaded to so I can delete?

The easiest way is to ask it to download again and the folder windows presents for downloading should be the folder it's in.

Hopefully someone else can tell you what exact filenames you're looking for in your Temp folder (docs and settings\username\local settings\) but if you get CrapCleaner (https://www.ccleaner.com) it will detect all the unused (i.e. not required at all, not just that you haven't used them for a while) files in your temp folders and offer to clean them out for you - also cleans up other mess on your computer.

If you follow the MS instructions (like "you must always select 'Run from this location' not 'Save to disk' ") then it won't give you a choice of where to download, so just redownloading might not help. You never know though - it might install 3rd time round Try save to disk and then run the file.

Yes do it again and see where it wants to download to. Then go and check.

I have a special downloads file on my C drive where I direct all these things so I can find them easily.

I tried that when I downloaded the second time but couldnt see it as the file was too long and just got ...

Will run CC and see if it cleans it up for me.
