in Credit cards
Morning all,
Looking for some clarification on the rules if someone better educated than me on the matter wouldn't mind?
I successfully blasted off my outstanding balance on my Tesco Credit Card in January 2012.
October 2012 - Those pesky peeps at More Than Pet Insurance auto-renewed my policy (I had since moved house and guess this was one company I forgot to tell!) No problem with More Than on this, except if I had been less of a doughnut, I wouldn't have been paying 2 Kitty Insurance policies!
Tesco are stating, that they have to honor "subscriptions" for up to 18 months after the account is settled. Could someone kindly:
A. State if this is true.
and if so
B. Point me in the direction of the correct wording of it all - just so I am aware. A google search brought up nothing.
Many thanks!

yes it happens, google 'Continuous Payment Authority'
Most insurance setup forms state when making payment that they will hold card details for purpose of allowing automatic renewals - with some kind of 'opt out' available to prevent that happens.. Companies would say its to protect the customer from cover lapsing -e.g car insurance if you didnt advise regarding renewing and had accident \ pulled for no insurance..

You have given a Continuous Payment Authority and never cancelled the contract when renewal was due:

Hopefully you have cancelled now!0 -

Frustrating, I've been paying twice for the same cat!
Good-o Tes er...co. Have agreed to refund the interest and charges and enter into a realistic repayment plan. :j0 -

6 recorded non-payments.
The letters were going to my fathers address (house is empty).
Lesson learnt should I ever move house again, Royal Mail re-direct don't rely on me remembering everyone!
Will be asking them, if they are to refund the charges, to adjust.
Already in a DMP mind, so the old credit file wasn't looking pretty in the first place.
